We set the goal of economic growth rate at eight percent, one percentage point higher than the national average speed, he said. It suits the practical situation and enables Ningxia to catch up with other provinces in a quicker pace, he explained.

He emphasized that Ningxia should accelerate opening-up process, establish a comprehensive opening-up platform, enhance construction of industrial parks and release more supportive policies on opening-up, land exploitation and finance to promote the development of inland opening-up economy and build Ningxia into a pivotal point along the Silk Road, said Ma.
