The Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region granted 1.02 billion yuan of small-sum guaranteed loans to help rural women start businesses in 2014. There are 23,000 women benefiting from the loan, according to officially released figures.
Until the end of last year, the loan in Ningxia has totaled 3.84 billion yuan and enabled 81,000 rural women to start businesses with fund support. It is reported that the loan started in 2011 and targeted towards rural women aged from 18 to 60 who have stable income sources. The start-up business ranges from distinctive advantageous industries, agricultural technologies to trade services. The maximum loan volume was improved to 100,000 yuan for a single person last year.
It is reported that Ningxia will issue this kind of loan totaling 800 million yuan in 2015 and 10,000 rural women will get support from it.
