On November 16, Ningxia’s first 3D flagship store was opened in Yinchuan. From now on, Yinchuan’s citizens are able to get local purchase of 3D printers, which can print out three-dimensional creative designs or children’s toys. The 3D technology will have a wide spread among citizens. In the 3D store, you can see more than ten printers working. And some 3D-printed articles like small houses and animals are on display.
The 3D printable model is created with a computer aided design package or via 3D scanner, and then a girl’s simple drawing will turn into a three-dimensional toy. The father of this little girl said that children could play with the toys designed on their own in 3D store, which may motivate children’s imagination and creativity.
A staff from Technology Department stated that when 3D printers are widely used in families, children and creative designers would be the largest user group. This technology could not only be adopted in designing and teaching, but in plastic surgery. 3D technology will be combined with body scan to produce more fitting implants. The traditional orthopedic implants are produced in quantity, so it may get rejected by the body easily. This problem can be solved by 3D technology, whose products are cheaper and more timesaving.
