The 2014 International Automobile and Motorcycle Tourism Festival, which is now in its eleventh year, kicked off in Yinchuan, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region on July 25. The five-day event, featuring over 10 competitions, including motorcycle racing and a desert car rally, has attracted over 2000 competitors and tens of thousands of tourists to enjoy the excitement of racing and the pleasure of driving. The festival, with the theme of “charm, speed, passion and style”, aims to introduce Ningxia’s culture and uniqueness through a variety of activities and programs and the participation of racers and fans. In addition to cut-throat competitions like rallies and racing, it also stages painting shows, music festivals and grassland carnivals in order to increase interaction with tourists. With its diverse landscape and convenient transportation network, Ningxia has become a destination of choice for adventurous self-driving tourists. Since 2000, it has held 10 automobile and motorcycle tourism festivals, attracting a total of 100,000 racers and fans from all over the country.
