Liu Hui, the vice chairperson of People's Government of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region and delegate to the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, pledged that Ningxia will complete the building of a moderately prosperous society in all respects by 2020 keeping pace with the rest of China when she attended the national meeting.
She explained that the whole countenance of Ningxia has completely changed and people’s livelihoods have been greatly improved over the past several years. However, she stressed that poverty alleviation still poses a challenge in Ningxia as there are one million poverty-stricken people. The realization of building a moderately prosperous society in Ningxia reached 70.4 percent in 2011, 10 percentage points lower than the national average level, Liu Hui said when quoting statistics from a recently released survey report.
She said that Ningxia will issue a series of preferential policies to attract enterprises to build bases in industrial parks and strengthen efforts on infrastructure and public facilities construction. She was confident that the Ningxia government will make full use of all kinds of resources to realize a swift development, and the region will enter into the moderately prosperous society by 2020.
