About 192,200 visitors flocked to Wuzhong, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, during the week-long National Day holiday, the local tourism bureau said.

They brought the city 89.75 million yuan (US$14.07 million) in tourism revenue, three times more than last year.

The increase in revenue was linked to the growing number of tourist attractions in the city. This year, Wuzhong began offering Yellow River culture tours, Hui culture tours and village experience tours.

Some 22,700 people went on Yellow River Grand Canyon tours during the holiday, nearly four times the number of visits last year, said Jiao Yuzhu, director of the tourism bureau. Trips by car also brought a new impetus to the growth of the local tourism.
