Ningxia Power Company plans to construct charging stations for electric cars in Yinchuan City, Wuzhong City and Ningdong Town, building infrastructure to support the development of electric cars in the region.
So far, only Wuzhong has nailed down the precise location of its charging station. Around 28 million yuan (US$ 4.3 million) will be invested in the city's 5,200-square-meter station, which is due to be completed by the end of November 2011.
The Wuzhong facilities will be able to provide battery charging and changing services to 30 electric buses at a time. Officials predict a battery swap will take less than 10 minutes each.
