To celebrate the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, Jinniu district in Chengdu, southwest China's Sichuan province, has planned a series of colorful cultural and tourism activities to boost the consumption market.

Rich Cultural Offerings

Jinniu district has created a variety of exciting cultural activities for the 7-day National Day holiday. At the Chengdu Art Museum, an exhibition will guide visitors through art creation, Sichuan sketches, shadow play, and watercolor landscape compositions. Moreover, the district has introduced a collection of themed activities, such as group singing, collaborative music sessions, group painting and group poetry recitals.

Community Performances and Grassroots Activities

During the National Day, Jinniu district, in collaboration with the Chengdu Peking Opera Research Institute, will stage the "New Voice" performance to commemorate artistic predecessors of the wartime era. Grassroots performances will also take place at Tianfu Art Park, Chishangjin Cultural Street to offer citizens and tourists a variety of shows. Additionally, the Jinniu Sports Center will host the Chengdu 2024 "National Fitness Standard" Qualifying Competition (Jinniu Station) to promote national fitness and enhance citizens' health.

Special Exhibitions

Jinniu district's major cultural venues have also prepared rich exhibitions for the National Day holiday. The exhibitions held at the Chengdu Art Museum will allow audiences to appreciate the charm of Chinese traditional culture. Visitors can also enjoy artistic experiences at the Chengdu Contemporary Image Museum and the Chengdu Yiyuan Garden Museum.

Jinniu district has also released a guide for events, performances and entertainment, covering major events, concerts and traditional Chinese parties. Phoenix Hill Sports Park will host FIBA Women's Basketball League Asia, as well as a concert by Singer and actress Rene Liu to enhance the celebratory ambiance of the National Day holiday.

Traditional Handicraft Markets

During the National Day holiday, Chengdu Botanical Garden will showcase traditional cultural handicraft markets, AR games, and other activities, providing an opportunity for citizens and tourists to engage with traditional crafts and technology while admiring the beauty of nature. The Jinniu District Library offers a series of cultural activities to combine reading with festive customs and excellent traditional culture.
