About one-and-a-half-hour's bus ride from Chengdu, Xilai Old Town in Pujiang county is one of the lesser-known historical towns scattered on the Chuanxi Plain. It has a history of more than 1,000 years. Most of the residential buildings that line the town’s 200-meter-long stone-paved main street can be traced to the Ming (1368-1644) and Qing (1644-1911) dynasties.[China.org.cn/Photo by Gong Xuegui]
