5. Youxi Terraces in Fujian Province

Located in Lianhe Village, in east China’s Fujian Province, Youxi Terraces was built in 741 during the Tang Dynasty and has supported people for generations. Standing on the hillside, you can see acres of terraced fields where farmers toil, and smoke curls up from kitchen chimneys.
