Baoxie Road Rock Gate (褒斜道石門及其摩崖石刻) is located in Baohe Water bank, 17 km north of Hanzhong City, Shaanxi province. Baoxie Road was a famous route which went through Qinling Mountain. The road was 250 km long. It has a gate at each end: The north side is called "big rock gate" and the south side is called "small rock gate". The Baoxie road rock gate is the small rock gate.

The construction of the gate was started in the Han Dynasty and the gate was rebuilt in the second year of Yongping in the Northern Wei Dynasty (509). The gate is 16.3 meters in length, 4.2 meters in width and 3.75 meters high. Many famous people throughout history have carved poems into the gate, and these carvings are called "rock carvings". The most famous of the carvings is "The Thirteen stone carving works of the Han and Wei Dynasties." These carvings contain invaluable information for those researching the development of Chinese characters.

In 1970, all rock carvings were transferred to the Hanzhong City Museum due to the imminent construction of the Baohe water bank, which would have been situated near the gate.
