- Location: Wangcun Town, Yongshun County, Hunan Province

Erected in 940 during the Five Dynasties, the Xizhou Copper Pillar (溪州銅柱) set as a war covenant made between the emperor of Chu, Ma Xifan and Peng Shichou, prefectural governor of Xizhou. As Ma imposed excessive taxes and levies in Hunan Province, Peng called the local people to revolt. Finally, they divided their areas and promised that they would never attack each other.

The pillar stands 4 meters high and weighs 2,500 kg, and contains more than 2300 characters. The artifact is a crucial tool for studying the relationships between different parts of ancient China.
