China Eastern Airlines and Ctrip.com have introduced a new travel brand "Shenji Travel" providing free independent travel products for the leisure travel market.

Until now most travel products could be only booked one or two weeks before setting out, but Shenji Travel enables tourists to book a package of air tickets and hotels from one to three months in advance, and tourists can enjoy different offers based on the booking date.

Ctrip.com and China Eastern say they position Shenji Travel as a new "air+online travel" service model in China providing a booking service targeting middle- and high-end free independent travelers with a more competitive price. Ctrip.com provides one-stop service to tourists, which will bring more travelers to the airline; the airline has utilized its vacant resources; and consumers get much better products.
