Huangshan Mountain has been listed as one of the "The Experimental Zones For National Low-carbon Tourism" by the China Eco-scenic Travel Committee, according to the Huangshan Scenic Area Administrative Committee.

Huangshan committee also said that the scenic spot has passed the first trial be be a "National Low-carbon Tourism Demonstration Zone".

The committee said earlier that it aims to build Huangshan Mountain as the world's top tourist destinations, and it also announced the plan to establish an international boutique tourism area.

In June 2010, the Environmental Protection Association under the aegis of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and the China Tourism Association launched the "Sustainable growth for low-carbon travel" themed ecological travel promotions.
