The low-cost carrier Spring Airlines officially launched its Urumqi to Shanghai vis Yinchuan route on October 31, 2010.

The Urumqi to Yinchuan route is a newly added service for the carrier.

The new service will be operated on a daily basis using 180-seat Airbus A320 aircraft.

The Shanghai-based carrier said it will offer special discounts on the Urumqi-Yinchuan-Shanghai route, and its fares will be even lower than the price of train tickets.

Budget carrier Spring Airlines was established in 2004 and started operation in 2005. The company has launched two international routes in 2010.
