The peak day tickets of the Shanghai World Expo for October 2010 have already become popular, with tickets for October 1, China's National Day, and Oct. 31, the last day of the World Expo, being the most popular, according to a report by Oriental Morning Post.

A reporter from the newspaper saw online that some have started speculating in the peak day tickets for October, quoting prices several times higher than the normal peak-day price of 200 yuan.

The reporter saw on a goods exchange forum of a Web site that a netizen left a message selling tickets for October 1 and October 31 at a price as high as 700 yuan per ticket. The netizen also advertised in the message that there is a limitation to the number of visitors on peak days, so there are not too many tickets available.

Furthermore, as October 1 is China's National Pavilion Day, the tickets for the day have collected value. The reporter also searched a few other ticket sales messages online with the prices generally being above 300 yuan per ticket, much higher than the official price.

Although, high-price tickets have appeared online, the peak day tickets for October 1 and October 31 are still available at ticket agencies designated by the Shanghai World Expo. The reporter phoned the customer service department of China Telecom and a representative there said that there are peak day tickets for each day of October in stock and consumers may place an order via phone.

A customer service representative of China Mobile also said that the peak day tickets for the period between October 1 and October 7 are available but tickets for October 25 to October 31 are temporally out of stock. However, the representative suggested that the reporter may call them again after some time to inquire whether the tickets for October 25 to October 31 are available by then.
