Tips for Beijing Skiing

Most resorts in Beijing operate between the end of November and mid-February of the following year. However, each has its own opening schedule, depending on their business plan and, of course, the weather. Contact the resorts for the most up-to-date ski information.

There are always private rental shops for ski clothes and equipment on the way to the major ski resorts. They offer cheaper rates than the ones located inside the resort. If you are driving, stop at one of those stores to save a few kuai.

Except for some top ski resorts like Nanshan Ski Village, which offers nice lodges, most of the others only provide basic accommodation. If you're planning an overnight stay, you may find better places available near the ski resorts rather than in them.

Pack a snack. Skiing and snowboarding can be exhausting, and the low temperature speeds the loss of body heat. So prepare some nutrition bars for an energy boost on the slope
