China is among the first echelon of the current international digital ecology landscape, according to the 2022 Digital Ecology Index recently released by the National Engineering Laboratory of Big Data Analysis and Applications at Peking University and 14 other institutions.

From the index we can see that the top tier of cities for digital ecology are all located in the urban regions of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei, Yangtze River Delta and Pearl River Delta, where the overall development of the digital ecology is more coordinated.
