"B for Busy" (2021)

"B for Busy" is a pleasant surprise and the most unique romance of 2021. Written and directed by young auteur Shao Yihui, it stars director-actor Xu Zheng, Wu Yue, Ma Yili, and Ni Hongjie. With an exciting plot, the story explores love, relationships, dilemma and friendships among middle-aged women and men from the perspective of women. It feels inspired by a Woody Allen film. Most of the dialogue is in Shanghai dialect, which adds to the film's realism and highlights the charms of the metropolis and its residents.
