A number of local bureaus of statistics of Chinese provinces and cities have published their average salaries in 2014.

Beijing is in the lead by far, with its employees of non-private enterprises enjoying an average salary of 102,268 yuan (US$16,475.37) last year, the only place exceeding 100,000 yuan (US$16,110). Zhejiang and Guangdong provinces rank second and third, with average annual salaries of 61,572 yuan (US$9,919.25) and 59,481 yuan (US$9,582.39) respectively.

Henan lies at the bottom of the list. Its employees of non-private enterprise had an average salary of only 42,179 yuan (US$6,795.04) last year.

The data of 11 regions, including Liaoning, Heilongjiang, Hubei, Guizhou, Jiangsu, Tianjin, Shandong, Yunnan provinces, and Shanghai, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region and Tibet Autonomous Region have not been disclosed.
