Old China Hand Reading Room 上海漢源書店

Located on Shaoxing Road in Shanghai, the store is managed by Deke Erh, a famous Chinese photographer and historian,and writer Tess Johnston. Opened in 1997, it is one of the oldest bookstores on the list. It is described as a café or teahouse rather than a bookstore. Old China Hand Reading Room focuses on English books about Chinese history. Famous actor Leslie Cheung loves it as well and has been in the store a couple of times.
