On Jun. 30, 2009, an Airbus A310 airliner of Yemen Airways crashed on the Comoros Islands, killing all but one of the 153 passengers and crew on board. The sole survivor was a teenage French girl named Bahia Bakari, who was found clinging onto the wreckage after floating in the ocean for 13 hours. She was traveling with her mother from Charles de Gaulle Airport in France to Comoros. She was discharged from hospital one month after the crash.
