Albinism doesn't just affect the animal kingdom. Fascinated though we may be by pretty white animals, the disease has very real consequences for its human sufferers. It is associated with a number of vision defects, such as photophobia, nystagmus and astigmatism, and it also renders sufferers more vulnerable to sun burn and skin cancer.
