Song Zhiping, president of the China National Pharmaceutical Group Corporation (Sinopharm), was awarded as one of the "50 most influential business leaders in China" in 2012 by Fortune Magazine. Founded in 1998, Sinopharm is administrated by State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council and is the largest medical and healthcare group in China.

Its core businesses include distribution, logistics, retail, scientific research and manufacture of healthcare related products. The group ranked No. 99 in the list of big enterprises released by National Bureau of Statistics in 2006. So far, Sinopharm owns 10 wholly-owned or holding subsidiaries, and 5 listed companies. The sales revenue of Sinopharm exceeded 120 billion (US$19.26 billion) in 2011.
