Big Dyeing Workshop was the site for the filming of the TV-series "Big Dyeing Workshop". The series focused on a legend which occurred in Zhoucun at the end of Qing Dynasty. Chen Liuzi, a 15-year-old boy, was forced to beg for food on the street due to the untimely death of his parents. Despite his dire situation, Chen is quick-witted and determined to succeed, possessing an extremely strong will. After 20 years of hard struggle, he finally succeeds in business, becoming a tycoon of Zhoucun's commercial street.
