Strikers Francisco Arce and Alexsandro are about to leave the
Brazilian football to play in South Korea, the local press
announced on Friday.
Paraguayan Arce currently plays for Corinthians, one of the most
popular football clubs in Brazil.
However, the team has been facing a crisis since money
laundering scandals involving its main partner UK fund Media Sports
Investment (MSI) were unveiled. The partnership was terminated, but
the crisis had already affected Corinthians' performance in the
field.
The team finished in the 17th position in the 2007 Brazilian
League, and was demoted to the Serie B of the championship for next
season.
According to Arce's agent Hugo Garcia, the player got offers
from other teams in Sao Paulo, but they were significantly inferior
to the ones made by Asian clubs.
The agent did not mention which club he will play for in South
Korea.
According to club CSA, based in Alagoas, northeastern Brazil,
striker Alexsandro will play for team Daegu, also in South Korea.
Daegu welcomed another CSA player this year, midfielder Eninho.
