Former Australian captain yet to decide on future with WC

The former captain of Australia's national football team, Craig Moore, is yet to decide if he wants to be a part of Australia's bid to qualify for the 2010 World Cup.

Moore, who is playing for the Queensland Roar football team in Australia, hasn't played for the country since the 1-1 friendly draw with Ghana in November last year.

A spokesman with the team said Moore had not made up his mind on his future with the national squad and would not be making any public comment until he had reached a final decision, Australian Associated Press reported Tuesday.

Moore's fellow World Cup veteran John Aloisi has said the 31-year-old's experience would be invaluable as the national team prepare to face Asian Cup champions Iraq, China and Qatar in their qualifying campaign for the 2010 finals.

After signing with the Roar in July this year, Moore hinted his international career was not at an end.

"I will always leave that (international) door open. I still believe if I am at my best I am good enough to play in the national team," Moore was quoted as saying.

"I believe I will be fitter and stronger than what I've ever been in my career," he said.

"Some might argue that my best years as a defender are still to come."
