| Women Hockey into 'Group of Death' |

China's women's hockey team has been drawn into the so-called "group of death" in the World Cup 2006.
China is grouped with Athens Olympic champion Germany, runner-up Netherlands, and host nation Spain, as well as England and India in Group A. The best two of the six can proceed with their World Cup journey after the group phrase.
The Chinese women impressed the world on the way to a silver medal at the Hockey Champions Trophy last month, losing 3-2 in the final to a more experienced German side. Netherlands finished third in the Championships.
The World Cup will run from September 27th to October 10th in Madrid, Spain.
