World youth champion Harry Aikines-Aryeetey of Britain stormed to the men's 100m victory at the IAAF World Junior Championships in Beijing on Wednesday.

The 17-year-old Aikines-Aryeetey won the race in 10.37 seconds, followed by Justyn Warner of Canada in 10.39. Yohan Blake of Jamaica was third in 10.42.

Aikines-Aryeetey, 100m and 200m winner at last year's Marrakech world youth championships, started on the fourth lane with a fastest reaction time of 0.130 seconds.

"I am extremely excited. Other people were very strong in the final with better PBs than me," he said. "It is my dream time. I am young and I am extremely good."

Chinese promising star Liang Jiahong finished fifth in 10.43.

The 18-year-old became the first Chinese man to reach a 100 meters final at any World Championships or Olympic Games Tuesday after the Asian junior champion won in the semis in 10.48

"Normally I can run with 10.40 but today I found that there is still distance between me and the top junior runners in the world, " said Liang.

"I made a slow start, so I can not catch up with the leading ones," he said.
