Colombian defender Yeison Murillo scored a late own goal as Gimnasia salvaged a 1-1 home draw with Deportivo Riestra in Argentina's Primera Division Apertura tournament on Monday.

Antony Alonso gave his side an early lead with a low finish after Nicolas Sansotre's cross and Carlo Herrera missed a chance to double the advantage when his tame 89th-minute penalty was saved by Nelson Insfran.

The hosts were gifted an equalizer in the 95th minute as Murillo bundled the ball into his own net while trying to keep out a cross.

Gimnasia is now sixth in the 15-team Group B standings with 11 points from nine games, a point behind fifth-placed Riestra.

Elsewhere in Argentina's top flight on Monday, Independiente Rivadavia eased to a 2-0 home victory over Union Santa Fe and Talleres Cordoba was held to a goalless home draw by Rosario Central.
