Dutch football club PSV has signed Spanish striker Lucas Perez on a deal until the end of the season.

Perez, 36, was a free agent after having terminated his contract with Spanish second division side Deportivo La Coruna for personal reasons. Perez will compete with Luuk de Jong and add depth to PSV's frontline, with Ricardo Pepi ruled out for the rest of the season with injury.

"PSV was right on top of things and did everything they could to bring me to Eindhoven," Perez said in a PSV press release. "Unfortunately, it took a little longer than planned to come to a final agreement, due to personal reasons on my part. I found a solution for that, and I am very grateful for the fact that the club management of PSV remained so patient."

Perez has also had spells with Arsenal, West Ham United, Deportivo Alaves and PAOK. He played his last match for Deportivo La Coruna on January 19.
