The 2024 Shanghai Women's Half Marathon will gun off on March 10 at Changning district's Zunyi Road.

Jointly organized by the Shanghai Sports Federation, the district government of Changning, and the Donghao Lansheng Group, the competition consists of two events - a half marathon finishing at Gate 3 of Zhongshan Park and a fitness run finishing at Shanghai Zoo.

A total of 5,800 participants, including 5,000 marathon runners and 800 fitness runners, will take on the 21-kilometer track that passes through landmark locations in Changning district.

The participants come from 16 countries and regions.

Apart from prize money for the top six finishers, which ranges from 2,000 ($ 277.8) to 15,000 yuan, the top 200 runners will be awarded quotas for the 2024 Shanghai Marathon.

Starting at 7 am, the fitness run ends at 7:50 am while the half marathon ends at 10:10 am. Participants' event packages will be picked up at Raffles City in Changning district.
