With one eye on the Sochi Olympics, China's teenage sensation Yan Han put a perfect end to his first senior ISU Grand Prix by becoming the first ever Chinese male skater to win a GP here on Saturday, while home favorites Pang Qing and Tong Jian narrowly missed the pairs title at the Cup of China.

The 17-year-old Yan, who's vying for a Sochi berth against compatroit Song Nan, went into the men's singles free skate after leading the short program with a career-high 90.14.

He made a bit of smart changes to his elements following a two-footed landing on his opening triple axel and a fall on his late triple lutz to collect 155.48, and summed up to 245.62, beating the 18-year-old Russian Maxim Kovtun and former worlds runner-up Takahiko Kozuka of Japan for the title.
