Chinese sports head Liu Peng has warned against doping, age cheating and unsportsmanship behaviors in the Chinese City Games that opens last Sunday night.

Addressing the meeting of the 57 delegation chiefs, Liu said the threats of doping, ineligible athletes and unruly behaviors exist in the City Games which had completed some competitions ahead of the opening ceremony.

Fifty-eight athletes over five sports including soccer, volleyball, boxing and Wushu have been disqualified from the games for various offenses, according to the Chinese sports and Olympic chief.

The disqualified athletes included 33 volleyball players, he added.

Registration frauds, age cheating, brawls among rivaling teams have taken place, Liu said.

The women's under-18 soccer tournament saw an "ugly brawl" between two team in May.

Liu reiterated the zero tolerance policy against doping and cheating, saying that the offenders will be punished without mercy.

Yuan Hong, deputy director of the anti-doping department of the City Games organizing committee, said 1,190 doping tests will be done for the games, a 10 percent up on the number in last version.

"It will be the most tested City Games in history," Yuan added.
