German record champions Bayern Munich staged a faultless performance against Schalke to win 2-0 whereas defending champions Dortmund gave away a neat 1-0 lead in two minutes to lose 1-2 against Hannover on Sunday.

Defending champions Borussia Dortmund suffered a bitter defeat against Hannover that showed the desire to win. Dortmund took over from the start in a seesaw match whilst Hannover lurked for counters.

After goalless 45 minutes, Dortmund midfielder Shinji Kagawa released his side when he opened the scoring with 63 minutes into the match by a lob from 11 meters. Hannover remained unfazed to shock the guests at the 87th minute with the equalizer by defender Karim Haggui who nodded home a corner from the right wing.

Only 116 seconds later, Hannover flabbergasted the defending Bundesliga champions with the 2-1 winner by striker Didier Ya Konan who controlled a long pass to slot home from 25 meters. It is the second consecutive loss for Dortmund.

"Our strength will saved us three points. If you do not give up there is always a chance," Hannover coach Mirko Slomka said after the last minute victory.

At the other match, Schalke lost against Bayern in front of outsold home front at Allianz Arena. Bayern smoothed the way for the victory in a one-sided affair with 20 minutes into the match as youngster striker and new arrival Nils Petersen opened the scoring, after an outstanding buildup play by Frenchmen Franck Ribery, with a follow up shot.

Schalke were only able to put one shot on target throughout the match as Bayern sealed the onesided affair with 75 minutes into the match through Bayern youngster striker Thomas Mueller who exploited a failed clearance attempt to mark the final 2-0 score.

It is the fifth victory at the sixth match for the German record champion Bayern Munich. "It was a great game of my team. The second half was the best this season," Bayern coach Jupp Heynkes said.
