China stop S Korea gold sweeping in short-track

China's men's team won the 5,000m relay to stop South Korea from sweeping the four gold medals of the short-track speed skating at the Erzurum Winter University Games on Sunday.

China won the final gold of the event by seven minutes and 05.813 seconds, followed by Canada on 7:06.359 and France, 7:06.469.

Kim Chan-Uk fell with five laps to go after they led almost all the way from the beginning. South Korea finished last in the finals with 7:14.352.

But the Koreans showed their strength by winning the other three golds of the day, collecting five gold medals on short track rink in total.

Olympic silver medalist Lee Eun-Byul sprinted first in the women's 1,000m by 1:33.388, and teammate Kim Min-Jung took the silver 0.178 seconds later.

Kim Tae-Hoon timed 1:32.425 for the men's 1,000m. The silver medal went to Chinese Sui Baoku, who finished 1:32.672.

The Korean women's team also won the 5,000m relay in time of 4:18.097, with China and Hungary on the second and third respectively.

Czech Republic won two gold medals in Sunday's races as Adam Zika took the men's Super G of Alpine Skiing by 1:06.88, while Klara Koukalova finished atop at the women's SBX snow board.

Germany's Konstantin Schad won the men's SBX and Japanese Aguri Shimizu collected the gold medal in the men's Nordic Combined Individuals.
