Ghana striker Asamoah Gyan has injured an ankle in training before the World Cup quarterfinal match against Uruguay on Friday.

Gyan left training Monday evening with ice wrapped around the injured ankle before heading back to the team's South Africa base at Sun City.

Gyan has scored three goals at the World Cup, including one that clinched a 2-1 victory over the United States on Saturday.
