Valencia's Mestalla Stadium will be sold out on Wednesday night for one of the most interesting games in the second round of Champions League group ties.

The rest of the country will be suffering a general strike, but there will be no let up in Valencia where the leader of the Spanish BBVA Primera Liga entertains Manchester United in a game that is vital for both sides' hopes in the competition.

Valencia won its opening group game 4-0 away to Turkish side Bursaspur, while Manchester United were held to a shock 0-0 draw at home to Scottish side, Glasgow Rangers.

While a win would take Valencia close to the last 16, a defeat for United would leave them with a lot of work to do in their remaining fixtures.

Valencia coach Unia Emery has virtually a full squad to choose from and will be pleased with the form of strikers Aritz Aduriz and Roberto Soldado, while Spain international Juan Mata has also been in fine form at the start of the campaign.

Mata said on Tuesday that wheh he had been a boy his hero was Manchester United's Ryann Giggs.

The 37-year-old is still performing at a top level for United, but will miss the trip to Valencia with a hamstring injury. Wayne Rooney will also be missing in Mestalla, the troubled England striker twisted an ankle during Sunday's 2-2 draw away to Bolton and stays in Manchester.

Rio Ferdinand should be fit to take his place in central defense alongside Vidic and Sir Alex Ferguson will hope that toughens up a part of his team that has looked vulnerable away from home.

Manchester United have not won away from home in three Premier League matches this season, Mestalla will be a stern test for them and Valencia President Manuel Llorente hopes it will draw some more attention to his side's achievements so far this campaign.

"It seems that in Madrid nobody has even said that we are leaders. In the capital of Spain nobody seems to say the name 'Valencia'," He complained.

Should his side beat Manchester United, that will almost certainly change.
