Mano Menezes scored his first win as national head coach when Brazil beat the United States 2-0 in New Jersey on Tuesday.

Televisions and radios across Brazil were tuned in to Brazil's first match since the 2010 World Cup, which also rang in the Menezes era with the Brazilian national soccer team.

At the New Meadowlands stadium, Brazil played in their first game since their 2-1 loss to the Netherlands, exiting the South African World Cup.

With a new head coach, a young roster and the promise of hosting the 2014 World Cup, Brazilians across the country breathed a sigh of relief.

After a frantic start, Brazil calmed down and opened up their offense. First time member of the Brazilian team Neymar scored his team's first goal. The young striker headed in a crossed ball from Andre Santos in the 27th minute.

Brazil scored again in the 45th minute when Alexandre Pato received a through ball from Ramires, leaving him face to face with Tim Howard. Pato dribbled past the goalie and tapped the ball into the goal with ease.

The match is Brazil's first step towards winning the 2014 World Cup.

Fans were surprisingly pleased to see their national soccer team play so well after such a big reform. Although the Brazilians lacked chemistry, the team is bound to grow together and return to the top of the soccer world.
