China's top female player Li Na defeated archrival Agnieszka Radwanska from Poland in straight sets to book a quarterfinal berth at the Wimbledon Championships on Monday.

The ninth seed Li was knocked out of the third round by Radwanska at the grass-court Grand Slam tournament last year, but made revenge by overcoming the seventh seed 6-3, 6-2 on Monday.

"I lost to her last year at the same court," said Li who played on court 18 for 67 minutes in the fourth round. "When I walked from the locker room to the court, I just thought I didn't want to lose again."

"She didn't make many changes as she usually does on court," said Li, who believed that Radwanska was stifled by her speed from the baseline. "She might be frustrated that I could always won the points even if she made some changes."

The 28-year-old Li is China's only world Top 10 player in singles. She reached the semifinals at this year's Australian Open and her previous best result at the All England Club was a quarterfinal finish in 2006.

Li said she would go back hotel to watch the match between defending champion Serena Williams and Russian ace Maria Sharapova. The winner will fight for a semifinal berth with Li.

Li lost to Serena Williams in the semifinals at this year's Australian Open, but outplayed Sharapova in the final at Birmingham earlier this month.
