Spain coach Vicente del Bosque watched his side claim its first win away to France in over 40 years and then told his players they could do even better in the future.

Spain produced an excellent performance in the Saint-Denis Stadium in Paris to win 2-0 thanks to goals from David Villa and Sergio Ramos.

The result will provide a morale boost in the final friendly game before Del Bosque names his squad for this summer’s World Cup finals.

"There were good and bad things during the game, but I am going to keep the bad things for us to discuss among ourselves," said Del Bosque in the Thursday edition of sports paper Marca.

"We are demanding and we want to play better. I think we played quite well in the first half, we made things easy and we were well placed on the pitch. However, if we are demanding then we were lacking a bit of depth," said the Spain coach.

"In the second half we took some decisions that put us into trouble, but overall we controlled the game," added Del Bosque, who praised the attacking contribution of Andres Iniesta and David Silva, before refusing to rule out France’s possibilities in the World Cup.

"I still think France can have a good World Cup, people said Spain were struggling before the 2008 European Championships and we ended up winning," he concluded.
