Chinese fencers grabbed the bronze medal in the men's sabre team event Sunday at the Moscow leg of the International Fencing Federation Grand Prix.

The Chinese quartet of Wang Jingzhi, Zhong Man, He Wei and Liu Xiao beat Kazakhstan and South Korea on Sunday to enter the semifinal. But they lost 39-45 to Italy before edging Germany 45-42 in the third-place playoff.

France defeated Italy in the final.

The Moscow leg of the Grand Prix, which kicked off Friday and will last until Tuesday, drew more than 200 fencers from 25 countries and regions. China sent seven male fencers and eight female fencers to the tournament.
