Visiting Vasco da Gama beat Botafogo 6-0 in the Rio de Janeiro state championship on Sunday.
Striker Dodo compeleted his hattrick in the first half and Leo Gago enlarged the lead by scoring the fourth in the second half. Philippe Coutinho continued the goal rush by adding another two.
With their stellar victory, Vasco da Gama remains undefeated and has collected nine points in the tournament.
Botafogo will host Tigres on January 26 in the fourth round of play and Vasco da Gama will host Macae on January 27.
