China still tops gold medal tally at 3rd AIG

With ten more golds from swimming, wushu and dancing competition, China continued topping the gold medal tally of the third Asian Indoor Games (AIG) on Friday with 40 golds.
China raked in five golds in the short-course swimming. Chinese Shi Feng won two golds in the men's 50-meter butterfly and 100-meter backstroke respectively. Chinese young player Pu Wenjie came first in the men's 200-meter freestyle swimming.
Chinese Guo Fan, who have won two golds at the third AIG, won another gold medal in the women's 50-meter butterfly. In the women's 4x50 freestyle relay, Chinese team beat all the rivals.
"All the players have performed well today, especially young players, "said Xu Qi, leader of the Chinese swimming team after all the competitions.
"Young players see their results improve though the 3rd AIG"
China also won three golds in the wushu competition and two golds in the dancing on Friday.
By the press time, China has won 40 golds, topping the gold medal tally. It is followed by host Vietnam with 28 golds.
The third AIG, running from Oct. 30 to Nov. 8, attracted the athletes from 43 countries and regions. China sent a team of 128 athletes to take part in 13 sports at the games.
