In the Germany-Azerbaijan game, German captain Michael Ballack scored a penalty in the first half, and striker Miroslav Klose found the net twice while Lukas Podolski sealed the 4-0 victory.

Despite the win, German head coach Jaochim Loew was not happy with the first half when German squad showed flat offensive and slacken defense.

"After the early goal, I was completely dissatisfied with the game," said Loew after the match.

After the interval, veteran Klose was sent to the pitch which was proven a smart choice.

"Sending Miroslav Klose for the second half was like liberation. He is not yet at 100 percent but he played well today," said Loew.

Looking ahead, the head coach said his team was "well prepared to travel to Russia."
