Israeli skaters Alexandra Zaretski and Roman Zaretski were crowned Universiade figure skating ice dance champions on Monday after a perfect performance in the final of the event's three legs.
To the music of Jesus Christ Superstar, the brother-and sister aces set themselves in the roles of 2000 years ago, staging a flawless free dance to total 177.43 points, leaving Russian pair Ekaterina Rebleva and Ivan Shefer second at 170.43.
Ukraine duo Alla Beknazarova and Vladimir Zuev held on to third place to take the bronze medal with 163.07 points.
Earlier, Finland's Kiira Korpi, bronze medalist of the 2007 European Championships and fifth of the 2009 European Championships, took the lead in the women's two-leg competition after scoring 58.96 points in the short program.
Japanese Nana Takeda is second ahead of Tuesday's free skating on 53.20 points, followed by Elena Elebova from Estonia at 52.90.
Later on Monday, five teams will compete in the short program of the synchronized skating, which is for the first time set as a competition event at the Universiade.
Tuesday will decide the final gold medals of women's and synchronized skating of the Universiade.
