Bridge adjacent to Macro Polo Bridge scraped down

Photo taken on Dec. 28, 2008 shows the on-site backout project of scraping down the new Lugou Bridge, which is parallel to the adjacent historical Lugou Bridge (Marco Polo Bridge), at the suburb of Beijing. The 1971-built new Lugou Bridge was marked in peril as it partially collapsed and dilapidated early this year, and is set to be rebuilt after total scraping down through the more reliable means of mechanical and manual backout instead of foremost plan of explosion.
