Editor's note: The Guangdong Lion Dance, recognized as national intangible cultural heritage since 2006, combines martial arts, dance and music. This cultural spectacle, originating in Foshan, reaches its peak during Chinese New Year celebrations when performances throughout the city help usher in the holiday season.
