An antique costume show was held in Beijing's Shichahai scenic area on April 28, 2024. Performers from Beijing Union University wore costumes that followed the designs of what locals would wear during six ancient Chinese dynasties – Han, Wei, Tang, Liao, Jin, and Yuan. 

The show intended to highlight clothing worn by people of different walks of life during these periods, which were essential in Beijing's transformation from a strategic city in northern China to the country's political and cultural center. 

Performers from Beijing Union University wore replicas of costumes that were worn in ancient China, showcasing clothing that people in different walks of life would wear during these periods in China's history. [Photo by Chen Boyuan/China.org.cn]
