The Fengtai Railway Rescue Team of the China Railway Beijing Group conducted a routine exercise on Tuesday to practice hoisting a derailed passenger carriage onto the track. This quarterly drill aims to ensure the team's readiness, with rescuing derailed carriages being their primary focus.

Gao Jianli, the team leader nearing 60, has worked on the railways all his life. It marked his last such exercise ahead of his retirement in two months. Despite the scorching summer heat, he took part in every step of the drill, not only as a supervisor but also as an ordinary team member.
